At Raptis Coffee, we have moddled our prices on what we call "Honest Shipping". That means we simply charge you what it costs us to ship something to you. There is no extra handeling fee, we do not make any money off of the shipping we charge you.
When you place an order through our online store, the website looks at your address, and looks up our UPS rates, and that is what you are charged.
This is why we have some of the cheapest, good quality coffee, on the internet. We don't build any cost of shipping into our product. The unfortunate side effect is that if you have never tried our coffee before, and are attracted by our price, you can buy 1lb of coffee but the shipping will be more than what you paid for that 1lb!
That doesn't sit well when a first time customer wants to try us out for the first time. So for you, we offer a variety pack. This is the only category of item with the shipping cost built in! You can try different types of our coffee, for one price, no suprizes.
For those of you who already love our coffee, this is where Honest Shipping comes to benifit. Other stores charge $10, $12, $20 or more for a 12oz bag of coffee. Many times these stores also charge for shipping, or give you free shipping over a certain dollar amount. The thing is that they build the cost of the shipping into the price. They usually use the "Average" customer to do this. Are you the average customer? Lets say the average customer buys 4 bags of coffee. That adds about $2.50 per pound to the cost for shipping. I can build that into my price, and it works out great for someone buying 4 bags or less, but what if you want 6? Shipping 6 pounds adds $1.70 per pound in shipping, but your paying $2.50! You just paid $4.80 more for your whole shipment than you would have with our shipping policy. The more you buy, the less you pay in shipping.
Many of our customers get their friends to try it, and they end up combining orders. The price per pound of coffee for shipping can get well under $1.
